Dental Bonding
There are many advantages to dental bonding. Restoration is a quick process, requiring only one office visit. Bonding is one of the least expensive cosmetic procedures, but makes a big change in the way your teeth look. The composite resins used for bonding are available in many different shades. Prior to your treatment, we will help you select the shade that matches your natural tooth color. In one day, you can change your teeth dramatically – and start feeling confident when others see you smile!
Why Dental Bonding?
• Repair chipped or cracked teeth
• Close spaces between teeth
• Change the shape of teeth
• Make teeth longer
• Restore without detection; looks natural
• Protect a tooth’s root that has been exposed when gums recede.
Because bonding can be shaped and polished, this material can alter the color, texture, size, shape and even, to an extent, the position of the teeth. What a difference a day makes in the way your smile looks!

Dental Bleaching
We all know that few people are born with perfect teeth. But that does not have to stop you from having a smile that looks its absolute best. When it comes to aging, the first thought is having a good wrinkle crème for our skin. But what about your teeth? Teeth are one of the first features that people see. Our teeth also change over the years. Teeth gradually take on imperfections and yellow stain that betray our age and make us look older than we really are.
What causes tooth discoloration?
There are many causes. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, colas, tobacco, and red wine. During tooth formation, consumption of tetracycline, certain antibiotics or excessive fluoride (fluorosis) may also cause tooth discoloration.
Is whitening safe?
Yes. Extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is safe. Hydrogen Peroxide, the active ingredient in Zoom!, has been safely used for many years in the treatment of gums and other oral soft tissue.
What is the difference in over the counter products and those I can buy at your office?
Products sold in stores have a lower percentage of bleach and different bleaching agents than professional bleaching products. There is also the added advantage of speed when you schedule an appointment to Zoom! The convenience of Zoom! in comparison to days of wearing trays or strips, makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual.
Thinking about having it done?
Remember, whitening should be done prior to the placement of composites, bonding, veneers, and crowns so they can be made to match your new tooth color. If you already have tooth-colored filling materials on your front teeth, they will stay the same color. Dental restorations do not change color by bleaching. New cosmetic procedures such as bonding or crowns should be delayed a minimum of two weeks after the whitening procedure, so that the new tooth shade has stabilized.

What is Zoom! Whitening?
Whiter teeth, in about one hour. It’s that simple! Years of yellowing are erased in the time it takes to get a haircut, manicure, or have lunch with a friend.
In clinical studies, Zoom! has been able to whiten teeth 9+ shades by the end of your appointment. Results can vary, but in most cases the results are dramatic.

Enhancing Your Smile
Veneers: Are they right for you?
Veneers can correct many dental problems:
• Front teeth that are worn or chipped
• Gaps and other spaces between teeth
• Crooked teeth
• Discoloration from medication or age
What is the difference between a crown and a veneer?
Unlike a crown, which covers the entire tooth, a veneer is a thin covering that is placed over the front (visible) part of the tooth. When dental bleaching can not remove stain (as with gray discoloration caused by medication), veneers are often an alternate way to a brighter smile. Veneers also preserve more of the natural tooth structure than porcelain crowns. Veneers are highly resistant to permanent staining from coffee, tea, or even cigarette smoking. And, the procedure requires little or no anesthesia.
Pre-op discussions will leave you smiling
As with all of the cosmetic dental procedures we perform for our patients, we want you to take an active role in your smile design. We encourage you to spend time in the decision-making and planning of your new smile. We do not charge our patients for treatment discussion appointments.
